    ACADEMY OF NATURAL RESOUCES - NORTH

    The Academy kicks off Sunday August 2, at 6 p.m. The week concludes Friday, August 7, after breakfast. Michigan Tech's Ford Center is located one hour west of Marquette, in the Upper Peninsula. The Ford Center provides a unique starting point to access Michigan’s natural and cultural resources nestled in the U.P. Your tuition includes 5 nights of lodging, 13 meals, and class fees.

    PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

    Adventure Awaits! The western Upper Peninsula is a vast mosaic of geology, wildlife, wilderness, and history. This expedition will include daily road trips to explore the Porcupine Mountains (Michigan’s largest State Park), the geology and copper mines of the Keweenaw Peninsula, and the shores of Lake Superior near Marquette. This is the best way to learn about and experience Michigan’s most amazing natural resource landscape. The content we will explore is science based, historical, cultural and recreational. Prepare to hike and learn.


    SCHOLARSHIP OPTIONS

    A $100 scholarship is available to registering participants. To apply for a scholarship, select and complete the "ANR Scholarship Registration" ticket option.



    CREDIT HOURS 20+ SCECH  
    State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECH) are available through this program with no additional fee.

    This is an inclusive archery experience for new and experienced archers within MAEOE that are looking for the opportunity to further their archery skills. Participants will learn to safely handle a bow, practice proper stance and experience shooting several rounds of arrows in a safe space for LGBTQ+ community members, families and allies.

    Participants must be age 8 or older.

    Close-toed shoes are required.

    Please review the Outdoor Adventure Center’s archery regulations before attending a class.

    Preregistration is required.

    Participation waiver

    Participation in archery at the Outdoor Adventure Center requires you to bring a completed and signed waiver to the beginning of the class. Please review and print a copy of the waiver here: Archery Participation Waiver

    The Outdoor Adventure Center has adaptive archery equipment. Please contact Patrick Endres at endresp3@michigan.gov if you need more details.

    Please also note, the parking lot is flat and ADA-compliant slope into the OAC. The class will be taking place inside in a climate controlled building.
